A source-linked reference atlas for all 361 classical acupuncture points across 14 meridians, with anatomical locations, classifications, traditional actions, safety notes, maps, printable charts, and a cun measurement tool.

What is in the reference

361 point records across 14 classical meridians plus the extra (EX) points. Every record carries the same fields: anatomical location, classification, traditional actions, primary and secondary indications, needling depth, moxibustion notes, safety cautions and source citations. The same dataset drives the point pages, the 2D plates, the interactive 3D atlas and the printable edition — so they never disagree with each other.

Where the data comes from

Point entries are compiled from 501 distinct source documents, and each point page lists the specific documents behind it. Wording is our own; we do not reproduce source text. Coordinates were mapped onto the anatomical plates and then projected onto the 3D body, which is why a point sits in the same place in every view.

The anatomical meshes in the 3D atlas come from the Z-Anatomy open anatomy project (CC BY-SA). The acupoint layer, the dataset and the interface are our work.

What this is not

This is an educational reference, not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment guidance or self-needling instruction. Depth and moxibustion entries are reproduced as bounded reference notes, not procedures. Point selection and technique require individualized assessment and supervised training.

Languages

Published in 3 languages (EN, IT, DE). Point names and interface text are translated; source-quoted clinical fields stay in English so the citation and the wording continue to match.
